I read this, and the book, "Trading in the Zone" years ago, and "didn't get it", despite my "cute" little markings in the book, and all the highlighting. It wasn't until I sustained ALOT of pain, that I went back, and started really USING these books, and am finally truly understanding them. I NOW understand why they are considered the GOLD STANDARD in Trading psychology. NO ONE BUT MARK DOUGLAS gets it to this level, and I've studied and read "everything". Mark nails it. Unfortunately, I did not have a clue before, and thought I could use my wits and cleverness to get ahead "without" everything that he outlines. It is, and will continue to be my "Trading Mental Bible", and I will brainwash myself with this until it penetrates every synapse I have. This is truly a Must Read if you are serious about trading the markets.

I wish i would of read this book before i started my journey into trading but am glad i have read it now. Very good info on the mindset of that we should be using. Thank you Mark Douglas and your team for putting this book together. Even if you dont use this book for trading, the mindset to establish to help you look at yourself for finding peace in your life is worth the read.

Excellent guidance.... Cant beat the advice. If you are going to be trading stocks, this book should be mandatory on your shelf.

This book clearly explains how BELIEFS drive cognitive functioning. If you are interested in more accurately perceiving object reality (rather than your filtered versions of it) then this book is for you. Douglas explains how beliefs filter reality. He then goes on to explain how to manage your beliefs, such that you become more adaptive and learn faster from experience. He provides specific mechanical steps for engaging in belief change.This book is actually about becoming more fully conscious ! Douglas shows you how. Douglas confirms the findings of Ariel and Mack in the book INATTENTIONAL BLINDNESS. To appreciate this book, you really do have to understand the IB phenomenon as described in that book...An earlier reviewer quotes this from the book, poking fun at it:"Our committed expectations about the future will act as a force on our perception of market information to control its flow into our mental system in such a way as to avoid a confrontation with anything that doesn't conform with what we already believe is possible."What Douglas is saying is simple: predictions are beliefs, and you will automatically ignore data that invalidates your beliefs. Beliefs, including predictions and judgments, are in fact filtering your perception of objective reality. This means that what you believe has everything to do with what you notice or perceive.This book is actually a classic, from a layman, on cognition and cognitive process. The biggest contribution to cognitive science here is the coverage of fear and how fear narrows perception in a very dangerous way for traders. Approach the book as a cognitive science book written by a very experienced and knowledgeable layman and you'll enojy this book tremendously. The subject matter is applicable well beyond the trading domain. However, since trading is so psychologically demanding, it is in fact a laboratory for understanding cognition and cognitive effects produced by emotions like fear. Buy this book if you want the inside scoop on how you actually are perceiving the world around you.

This book is not about charting, analysis of stocks, or mathematical methods on how to cut losses and make profit. Actually it contains no single stock chart. It does address the psychology of trading in general and our own in particular. What makes it a good book is the fact that it was written by a trader not a psychologist. The author focuses on mistake we make "like compounding our losses" and the deviating effect it has on us. He discusses how fear can blind us from seeing the correct market direction. Finally, he mentions that treading is all mental and that was my experience as well. The book could have been improved by much had been accompanied by charts and common mistakes people do in shorting and going long in different markets. I would recommend it for the price, it is worth for frustrated traders.

Best book I have read on currency trading so far. Consistency is the key to successful trading. There is no consistency without discipline. Must read for all beginners.

I had the greatest pleasure of meeting Austyn Wells 5 years ago, shortly after my Father passed. Sitting with her was so profound, it was my Father, speaking to me and saying to me all that he couldn’t before he passed. I had had a very difficult childhood with my Father and my session was so incredibly healing for me AND I know for my Dad in spirit as well. Since then I have had the most wonderful opportunities of participating in some of Austyn's workshops. I am extremely excited that she has put into print a great deal of her teachings from her workshops. Austyn has told us that she wants people to know how accessible the Universe is and to know that there is a whole Universe inside us. This book is an amazing guide to accessing that Universe. The guided meditations presented with many of the chapters will take you on amazing journeys to meet your “team”, your guide(s), and angels and even and especially your loved ones in spirit. Further, it will help you strengthen your intuition, to quiet the chatter in your mind so you may know and hear the voice of your higher self, your soul. Soul Conversations was the first time I ever got a believable answer to what is the soul. Austyn has a disarmingly straight forward, built from the ground up thesis that is based on a rich history of mediumship experience and study of universal law. The concept of the Finite and Infinite self is so accessible and empowering it opened the door so much wider for me to what the potential of spirituality can be in my life. Up until this book, understanding the soul was like nailing Jello to a wall. Austyn was somehow able to walk me through from birth to eternity in 230 pages with a level of realizations and tools to map the journey and enjoy the ride. Clearly a scholar in the field with logically unique and explainable spiritual axioms that put the invisible path into a walkable journey of self discovery. Thank you for this book Austyn. You have completely redefined what being connected means, and on many more levels than I ever imagined.

"Soul Conversations" is a beautifully written and meaningful book that guides the reader on how to recognize, listen to, connect with, and nurture your soul. When you learn how to listen and work with your soul, you have the opportunity to make well-informed choices and improve the quality of life for yourself and your family.There are various spiritual subjects discussed in this book followed by Austyn's "Divine Spark" exercises as well as 22 guided meditations, available to download, that gives the reader the opportunity to put what you have read into practice. This book is the "real deal" when it comes to learning how to register and protect your images. But it also goes far beyond the "how" to register and really explains the the "why" and gives a history and breakdown of the whole copyright process. Jack & Ed take you on a journey starting with the US Constitution and discussing the need to know or the need to "think about" issues that the modern day photographers faces. Issues such as posting images to social media, why you should register wedding photography, revenge porn and so much more. Jack & Ed dispel many myths and urban legends in this book. I ask you; who do you want to believe? Some obscure blog writer or some guy/gal at the local photography club or Ed Greenberg who has made a career out of looking after people's intellectual properties. Lean about model releases, I have been using model releases for a long time and I learned so much more about using releases. This book in my opinion is more valuable to a serious photographer than any "how to" tutorial book could ever be. What good is any image if you cannot protect it and call it your own?

It is well-written, easy to understand and probably one of the most useful books I have read in a long time.Although your work is automatically copyrighted upon creation, this book explains various nuances of copyright law as it pertains to photographers and why you should really register your images and get the full protection of Federal Law to cover your intellectual property.Well worth the small investment in my opinion.----An aside... GIMP hint: If, like me you use GIMP rather than PhotoShop for your editing, a useful plugin for being able to resize your images to upload to the Copyright Office, as suggested by the authors, can be found by searching the web for the phrase "David's Batch Processor"

Once you've done it once or twice, it's easy. The information in this book is worth tens of thousands of dollars if it were billed by an attorney. From copyright, to ironclad paperwork practices, to business-savvy advice, to agents and lawyers, insurance, pricing and fee-negotiating, this book has everything you need from the starting level to know the "game" of photography in the modern age. They include both the monetary triumphs and tragic losses of photographers past who either did, or did not know the treacherous world of business. A business world you are in whether you want to be or not. I highly recommend this easy to read, plain spoken and even funny in areas book that will educate and inform any person with a camera who wants to shoot pictures either professionally or as a hobby. Knowledge is protection, and as in any full-contact sport such as intellectual property management (your photos), you better wear protection. If you're the type of photographer that would rather walk softly but carry a big stick, the knowledge in this book is your big stick. Go fourth with confidence.

Great guide, very thorough. Read twice, then took HAM test and got a 90 on the general test

So after you pass your Technician Class exam you may think about taking the General Class exam, since that license opens up a great portion of the HF bands (you know, what grandma and grandpa called "shortwave radio"). This book zeroes-in on the questions and answers using a textbook-like narrative, but is kind of light on the theory. But by studying this book and committing the answers to memory, you'll have a good chance of passing, which is exactly the purpose of this book. However, after you pass, you may want to get a different book to fill in the blanks and get the big picture: there's more to power supplies than filter networks, bleeding resistors, and lightweight inductors and capacitors to smooth out the pulses (these are all approximate answers to General exam questions). To delve in deeper, I recommend the The ARRL General Class License Manual (emphasis on Manual). Of course, this book is about 4X longer and it would be a bear to study from unless you want to commit six months to the effort.As always, pick your VE location and date first, then work backwards to see how long you need to study. This hard deadline will help motivate you and keep you on track. I spent about 20 minutes a day (about 60 minutes on Sat/Sun) for 30 days reading and re-reading the book, about twice as long as I spent on the Technician exam since the material is far more obscure and disconnected (although it builds on the Technician material). Full-wave rectifier? Control grid? Maximum deviation of an oscillator? Varicode? PM? Obscure indeed. But that's why you need a study guide.Good luck!

This is seriously a no-nonsense guide, nothing more than info you need, only including brief explanations if required. The questions are reworded into paragraphs and it flows quite nicely. The question number is bolded in brackets right next to the answer and is super clear what is needed to know! This is very unlike the ARRL license manuals where the question number is sometimes many sentences away from the buried answer that may or may not be clearly expressed.I was able to read this book in one day and pass the exam the next with no problems!However, there is some nonsense in this book when it explains question G1D11, it is about what you must do to renew an expired general/extra license. The answer is, you must retake the technician license to show you still have the knowledge. Seriously FCC? That is NONSENSE, but not the author's fault.

The No-Nonsense Series of books is an excellent way to prepare for the Ham License Exams - I read the technician and the general license study guides and then practiced a lot on HamStudy.org, both single sections and practice exams, and passed my technician and my general license exams with flying colors. Make no mistake about it: this is not an in-depth technical manual, nor does it claim to be, it is a study guide for the tests only.But Romanchik puts the questions in a very easy to follow prose and in context, which helps enormously to both understand and remember the material. Moreover, this guide shines in explaining formulae in a way that makes working with them easy.By contrast, the ARRL books are overwhelming with details, especially for beginners, and much better suited as reference works. And though Gordon West produces an excellent series of study guides, I found his style too chatty, and I never could sit down and read his book cover to cover. Romanchik's direct approach, on the other hand, worked well for me.All in all I would highly recommend the No-Nonsense Study Guides for getting your amateur license. And remember: the license is only the first step, afterwards it is important to find a nice group of hams to join, learn from and share with!

This is a classic, but I hated it. That's not necessarily the author's fault.On the other hand, I joined an online service to practice for the test. I passed the General, Technician, and Extra tests on the same day. A hard cover book cannot compete with software in teaching multiple choice.

I can not recommend this book enough. I used Dan's No Nonsense Study Guide for Technician class and passed around Thanksgiving 2015. I decided to get my General about two weeks ago so I purchased this book. After two weeks of studying this guide and taking practice exams at three different sites I aced my exam yesterday. 35 for 35. As soon as I got home I purchased the No Nonsense Study Guide for Amateur Extra. My goal is to have my Extra license within six months of earning my Technician license. This is the easiest way to study. Thanks Dan, KB6NU!

Excellent book that very effectively serves its purpose - to help someone quickly prepare for and pass the general class license exam. Learning a subject in depth is a very different proposition from passing a test. This book is a great way to put the test behind you and get your license, at which point the learning is a lot more fun and useful.

Dan Romanchick is the best! I needed something that gave me the information that I needed with out all the dressings and ramblings about random information that I wasn't interested in anyway...great job! If you're thinking of a license upgrade then definitely buy this book. Highly recommend it to anyone!

Until I read this book, I never realized the torment jurors went through in dealing with a case to making a decision. I was in the medical field, so autopsies never bothered me. For jurors to see autopsy photos of dismembered bodies it can be a harrowing experience, that can play psychological games to a person. One of the things our judicial system should do is to provide psychological assistance to jurors, free of charge; being that they believe being a juror is a duty.This book can open one's eyes to our judicial system from the legal and psychological viewpoint.

I have been following this case. I have seen the movie and a few television programs and I followed the trial. I am anxious to start this book.

Good insight on the thought process, and the impact evidence (or lack there of) has on a jury. These jury members break down what different pieces of evidence had an impact on them, which pieces of evidence didn't, how an attorney's appearance in a courtroom makes a difference, how being on a case like this affected their lives, and how they reached their verdict in this infamous case.

I enjoyed this book. Granted it did jump around a bit, but it was interesting to see how the trial affected the jurors. The one thing I came away with was, that Scott Peterson received a FAIR trial. The jurors took their job seriously and some no doubt will be forever changed by what they saw and learned and lived during this process. Goes to show that Scotts actions didn't just affect his and Laci's families but MANY other people.

This book for the most part did not tell me anything that I did not previously read or hear about in the news paper or on TV. However, it did give me an insight into this trial that has never before been available. The book provided me with a point of view of the trial from a sitting juror. Once I read the book I concluded that this jury was committed to working at a decision that was neither popular as has been suggested. These jurors were committed to rendering a decision based on evidence and one that was based on the Laws of the State of California as informed by the court. These 7 Peterson Jurors did a great job at explaining how a jury should function and why their decision to send Scott to California’s Death Row was (based on evidence and testimony) a just and right thing to do. In the end what they accomplished was justice.

A well-done book, not so much in style but in content. I wondered about the thought processes of the jury as they deliberated on the Scott Peterson trial, and I was afraid that Geragos would pull off an acquittal, a la O.J., but I was glad that didn't ultimately happen. I'm an eye-for-an-eye proponent and I think the world would be better off without this scumbag. The state of California shouldn't have to pay to shelter and feed this piece of trash.

Very well written, anyone who has an interest in this case needs to read this. Highest recommendations, this is hard to put down.

First of all, I'd like to sat I feel horribly for the jury. I know this decision must not have been easy. That said, I Found this book rather enlightening as to how the jury came to decision of guilt under circumstantial evidence and the decision of the death penalty.

It asks you to fill in information such as when did you go, where did you do, etc, which I think it can serve as a memory book for my niece and remind her the trip when she grows up. We bought a second after seeing how great this travel guide is so both of our elementary age kids could have their own. I will buy this brand of travel guide anytime we go anywhere they offer one. It is informative but also has lots of different activities. I highly recommend this.

I purchased 2 books from this great series for my nieces. They absolutely loved reading about all the fantastic places in Washington and interesting culture and places in Germany. They wanted the paperbook version now so they can scribble the answers and write in the journal too! They visited Washington D.C. last year and it was a great reminder for them.
