We love the Biscuit Series and this book came at a very timely moment - the start of preschool for my youngest granddaughter. She loves dogs, Biscuit in particular, and this book did not disappoint. The pictures and story provided some good discussion about what school is like and what she might expect at her new school.

I liked Biscuit because he was funny and cute. I liked Biscuit because he was acting like a little kid and I also liked how the book was colorful.This review was completed by my eight years old daughter as she read it three times in a row!I would recommend this book for any small children who are seven years old and under.Happy reading!

I gifted my 6 year old niece with several of the I Can Read "Biscuit" series and have ordered her more for Christmas. She is just learning to read and sitting with her and listening to her sound out the words in these wonderful little books is such a blessing. The story lines always have a lesson that is easily understood by small children and the art is captivating. I hope to add to her collection every chance I get. Her two year old brother is learning along with her. Seeing her read to him is so rewarding. What a good book line for new readers. Keep them coming.

My three year old grandson loves these books-although he has had them from the library I want him to have his own. He reads this over and over-sweet story and one falls in love with Biscuit! Read these with my kids and granddaughters and grandsons!

I bought this for my 4 yr old grandson who was starting kindergarten. He loves this book and reads it himself now. Try all the Biscuit books for your little one. They are very cute books.

Wasn't as good as the original Biscuit book, but it's still a good story book and little one still enjoys it. It's a good story and easy to follow for my little one.

I wanted to learn to make food of Hawaiian influence. I found it in this perfect book from Honolulu. The recipes seemed intimidating at first, but after trying the Pineapple duck I am hooked. Love the mesh of flavors, and soon I will be trying the asparagus recipe as it reads so delicious.This book is not simply another cook book. In meaning that it goes from traditional appetizer, drinks, dinners and desserts. It also has a luau section for any day of the week. I would recommend this book to anyone trying Hawaiian cuisine for the first time. This book will go into your collection not leaving the shelf, but remaining on the counter ready for the next meal.

I've had this cookbook for 20 years - I wore it out so I got a new one. I have given it as gifts many, may times. It is absolutely wonderful.

Nice Hawaiian recipes. Some ingredients hard to find

Years ago I edited this cookbook, so I can heartily attest to the fact that it looks and feels great and the recipes are a delight! And it is still a favorite of my ex-husband - now that is an endorsement.

a must-read if you are in the process. information contained is invaluable if you are serious about donation (giving or receiving) and the ethical issues pertinent. my brilliant child conceived thru egg donation,much of the success of which i attribute to this compilation. i wanted to understand the issues. age discrimination should be considered; it is real. happily this book introduces it in a rather realistic, if not terribly sensitive, way. my age at conception was 47; age discussion in the book did not trouble me in the least. other issues in the topic are so much more critical. they are clearly presented and well-discussed.

For anyone considering third party reproduction, this is a valuable and insightful resource. If / when I get pregnant though Egg Donation, I will use this book as a guide, referring to it over and over again.

Great book on helping you both decide on doing egg donation and understand the process of it. Brings up great questions to think about. Highly recommend!

Is a good book

After seeing all the 5 star ratings for this book, I did my best to find some redeeming value in this diatribe. I felt that I was constantly slapped in the face with the authors views that wanting to have a baby over the age of 40 was selfish and unfair to the child. I'd like to inform the narrow minded authors that at age 40 I'm a much better parent than I would ever have been in my 20's and 30's. I have just as much energy and a lot more patience! Not to mention that my parents at 65 are no where near the geriatric burdens that the authors predict for my children in the future. Parenting is challenging at any age, and to assume that someone under the age of 40 is any more prepared for the task is absurd. I want my money back!

I found this book to be really helpful in many ways--it offers lots of information and guidance and does so in a way that consistently demonstrates that the authors "get" the experience of infertility. Other reviews indicate that readers found the first edition to be biased against older moms but I found no evidence of this in the second edition. In fact, very much the opposite. My wife and I are both 43 and we feel like we're in a race against time. I felt that the authors understood and addressed our dilemma. The book is especially helpful in offering guidance about choosing a donor, which I find to be one of the most confusing and stressful aspects of egg donation. Perhaps more than anything, I came away from the book feeling that this really CAN be a good option for our family. While the authors seem to be talking primarily to women, I felt very much included in the readership and hope that other men (as well as women) will get a lot out of reading it.

I'll admit I came to Having Your Baby Through Egg Donation with hesitation. I'm about to turn 43 and very much focused on my age, so when I read criticism of the earlier edition for being "snarky" about older mom's, I assumed this book would only upset me. What I found instead was a compassionate discussion of age --one that acknowledged that women my age often have regrets and lots of questions. The authors do raise a question of whether it is fair to a child to have a mom who is in her "late 50's, even 60's" when she gives birth, but I didn't find anything that made me that 43 is "too old." And looking beyond the age issue, the book is filled with so much practical and wise advice, especially about topics like talking with family and friends. I don't plan to travel abroad for egg donation but was interested to learn about that option.

I picked up a copy of this book in my doctor's waiting room expecting that I'd glance through it and then read something that made me feel better like the latest copy of People. To my surprise, Having Your Baby Through Egg Donation was easy to read and more important, easy to like. It made me feel better and more hopeful hearing how women decide on egg donation and what our next steps will be if we decide to take that path. The book covers all aspects of egg donation--the emotions, the "how to's", the ethical and legal pieces and most encouraging, pregnancy and parenting. I'm planning on one more IVF cycle with my eggs but if it doesn't work, I think the first thing I will do will be to get my own copy of this book.

After National Service in the Royal Air Force Harry Woolridge applied for a job in the Service Department at the Triumph Engineering Company, and was lucky enough to be selected. Bought this book in Nov and it got tucked away and just came across it the other day. Wow-wish I'd looked at it right away. I would have returned it. Several things: 1) No real instructions. You get vague little bullet points like--make a card out of cardstock. This isn't a book you can hand a crafty kid or teen and tell them to go for it. There are simply no detailed step by steps in this book. 2) Most of the crafts are cards. Very few other projects. Vague instructions, very little variety in kinds of projects make this book useless for me, and a huge disappointment.

This would have been a 5 star except the book bind is coming undone. I just opened this package late last night, and as I was looking through the pages, I noticed that there was some separation from the binding. I would return, but its too much of a hassle. I usually am so happy with amazon's books, but this time it's a disappointment. I've purchased about 7 crafting books, a ton of decorating and organizing books, and recipe books. Though this craft book contains so many cute ideas, the binding was the only disappointment.

I would give this book a 5 star review except for the fact that it has WAY too much Halloween crafts and I'm not a huge Halloween person. If you get into that holiday though, this book would be a 5 star book for you. The rest of the projects are awesome. I've already used it for inspiration several times in my cardmaking. Well worth the money.

Lots of god ideas, but not enough information on products used in individual projects.Pretty to look at, well laid out but then, it's just an IDEA book.

I really like the Papercraft Big books because they inspire a cardmaker like me. This one is particularly good for Fall and Christmas cardmaking. The directions are excellent as are the pictures of cards.

This is a great book, chock full of current ideas and pictures.

I purchased this as a surprise for my 8 & 10 year old since they enjoyed the series (especially since they are new owners of their first pets - Robo Dwarf hamsters). My plan was to put it in a bag of activities for the summer and give it to them on the last day of school. My oldest found it and claimed it instantly. She loves it! Now I need to find a new plan!

My son loves riddles, mazes, word searches, and such, I got him this book along with the first Humphrey book and a stuffed hamster for Christmas. We read the first chapter of the book while he cuddled the hamster, then he spent about 40 minutes working in this activity book. It made a great gift!

I bought one for my 7 year old and one for her 9 year old cousin and man, they loved the book. My daughter loves jokes and she was glued to the book. She kept telling books ad nauseam. I would recommend this book for the little personalities who are starting to "get" jokes and likes to tell them.

I was disappointing in the 2 books. Too old for my grandkids 6 and 8 years old.

My 7 year old loves Humphrey! This book is full of fun puzzles and jokes and she absolutely loves it.

Best children's author ever!

These books hooked my kindergartener who has devoured them. She reads these in under a week during the school year. I'm thrilled with any series that keeps her reading and on the edge of her seat for the next book in the series. Bravo. Long live Humphrey!
