This book is actually really good at explaining the Georgian alphabet in comprehensive steps. They group a few letters at a time so you’re not overwhelmed. However it’s highly recommended you have someone fluent in Georgian to help you with pronounciation because the sounds can be difficult and bizarre to someone with no experience hearing the language, then again this book just proclaims to teach you to read, not speak, so I guess it’s good. It ain’t happening in 5 days, but if you are diligent you can definitely have everything memorized in 1-2 weeks.
I really enjoyed this book. It does exactly what it promises - it will help you to read (I.e.decipher) Georgian script within 5 days. If you're looking for a full-on language course, then this book isn't for you. However if you're looking to make reading Georgian script simple then this book does just that and makes it a lot easier than what I thought it would be. I went through it in one day and am amazed at how much I've picked up. The author does give some tips on pronunciation and so forth, but the aim is really to learn how to read the script and I think this book does a great job of it. Sentences I couldn't read this morning I can now read - I'm really impressed. The list of words at the back is a great bonus and is a mini-vocabulary builder which is a lovely touch.
it has been a challenge to find study/course materials for this most beautiful and unique language. it's great to run across something that doesn't cost 128$us!
It took me two days. This is a very easy intro to the Georgian alphabet. I am currently living in Tbilisi and learning to speak Georgian, but I used this book before I arrived to get a jumpstart!
Not sure if this will help but some of the writer's tips were beyond the point. I had already learned about 3/4 of the alphabet and felt my own system was better. It did not help me with the remaining letters I just could not master
Bought it for my Georgian boyfriend because he was going to visit his home country later on. He loves it. Definitely helping make learning Georgian simple.
Excellent product.
The book is very brief and simple but does the trick. I prefer how this book transliterates to the Latin alphabet over more academic books I've tried reading.
