This is the best ID book bar none!!.Now, this is the first time I am reviewing a book on amazon and to think I have been using this site for the past 6 years. I chose to review this one because of how good it is.Well written, easy to read, brilliant format/presentation for rapid access to clinically relevant information and still small enough to carry in your ward coat pocket(for non smart phone users).You can use it as a stand alone antimicrobial guide, it's also perfect for the ID boards especially for the very busy fellow who definitely would not have the time to read the massive Mandell's principles of infectious disease. In a nutshell, this book is a combination of "Sanford guide to antimicrobial guide", "Clinical Infectious Disease" and "Educational Review of Manual of Infectious Disease" all in one.In as much this book is perfect for the ID Fellow, the Internal Medicine Resident, Clinical pharmacist as well as the primary care physician would also benefit greatly from this excellent text.
The book is quite helpful. Very thorough in explaining all the organisms and dosing. However, it's a little big to carry around in a pocket. If you are in an office it's not bad as a reference, but not as small as the sanford guide. I would have downloaded the ipod app version had I known it was available.
Excellent reference..wish it had a section for ophthal. infections for the oddball bugs. . . . . . . .
A very good resource to use especially if you like to read larger print. I use it in addition to Sanford. It explains information more but Sanford is my #1 choice
