I have been anticipating this modern day Royals book since I heard this author was writing it! I stayed up reading it all night. And boy did I love it! I have read my share of Royals and Cinderella type books. But this one was such an engaging change. It is definitely royalty in the modern world, complete with Clem and Christian meeting online, him hiding his true identity. They “dated†online for months, slowly falling in love without having even met in person. But when they do, and Clem discovers who she really has been talking to, is when the story really starts to take off. We get to go on this incredible journey into what it might be like to date a real British Prince. And just in time for the wedding. The details and research that this author puts into her books is second to none. Plus we get a definite hint of more Royals to come.
I have been a fan of Avens Ellis since the Aubrey Rules, she has a very distinct way of writing. With each and every book I am sucked in to the story. She writes such amazing characters that you can relate to and want to be friends with! This book is no different.I loved Clementine and CP. This was such a beautiful story about finding your true love and happy invited them help you find your true self. I hated the queen absolutely hated her ugh the princesses were amazing!! I can't wait to hear more about this amazing family. The way that Aven Ellis described everything Clementine was seeing made me feel like I was there. This book all absolutely be a re read. Amazing job I am so proud to be a fan!
If you like a melodramatic love story with contrived drama, this book is for you. There were moments when I laughed out loud because the dialogue was just ridiculous. The characters were adults, and yet I thought I was reading about 16 year olds. I’m sure Aven Ellis is a great person, but I felt this book was too juvenile to be considered an adult romance.
Ok seriously loved this book! Clementine was so real in how genuine she really is but also isn't afraid to face real life with the ups and down. Christian is just swoon worthy and has everything you would want a prince to have charm, hotness, a sense of humor and so much more. While these two got together in an awkward way you can the respect and love they have for each other. They aren't afraid to be themselves and love each other for that alone. Lets face it I'm a huge Aven Ellis fan I've read every single one of her books at least 3 times and this one is no different. Aven shows shes not afraid to make her hero and heroines real or have rte he awkward moments we have all faces in life and that why we love her and her book!
Aven Ellis is known for her hockey romances but she has always written nonsports romances as well. My first introduction to her books was Chronicles of a Lincoln Park Fashionista and I was hooked. Aven's newest book, A Royal Shade of Blue takes her into a new world, that of English royalty, and she does a great job of pulling us in with her. Clementine and Christian are delightful, the English settings will make you want to catch a plane immediately, and, as usual, the author’s research is impeccable. My only regret is that Christian and Clementine didn’t take tea at the Orchard in Grantchester while they were in Cambridge.
This book was so painful to get through. It came with good recommendations but it is the cheesiest and most unrealistic book. Don’t bother wasting money on page after page of “I love you.†“I love you more.†Vomit. These people barely even know each other and it’s all I love you with all my heart lame cheesy bs. There was no character development, no plot development, and no actual point to the story.
I gave up about halfway through. The first ten or so chapters seemed condensed. Christian and Clementine were “madly in love†after about two months of dm on instagram and WhatsApp. I found myself rolling my eyes several times and had to force myself to keep reading. The characters lacked depth for me. If you choose to buy it I hope the second half of it makes up for the first.
I love this book. It's both whimsical and realistic, and provides an authentic peek into what royal life might be like. Fans of Harry & Meghan or Hallmark movies will love this one!
