Pope John Paul II shares honors with Billy Graham in terms of evangelism and religious life. If you want inspiriational but short writings, JPII is your man of the times. This Holy and God filled man is the best thing to happen for the Catholic Faithful, all Christians and all people of all faiths. I encourage you to read his works. Simple, consice and in lay terms. Read and build on your lives.
He's an incredibly intelligent man! I had to really pay attention to understand what he was saying. Loved it!

If you are looking for things to contemplate while meditating, this book may be good for you. I, though, was very disappointed. I was hoping for more of a discussion on points. Though I do recall that they said that the lessons were short, I didn't realize how short they would be. This teaches me to buy samples from now on of books. The lessons were a paragraph, maybe two paragraph tops. To me, they felt like quick thoughts jotted down in a journal.I'm not saying they weren't good lessons...but I was hoping for more of a discussion on why a person should follow these lessons...maybe with bits of John Paul's own life experience. Most of us probably know what we should do, but I like books that tell you why we have these morals...for I find that morals are easier to uphold when consequences of breaking them are laid out (and I don't mean hellfire and damnation--there are actually very practical reasons to uphold morals).
Recommended by our Priest he was not wrong! Should be read !

Really wonderful. I wish this came in a desk calendar. It’s taken me a while to read it, because I just read one or two entries a day as good for thought. I recommend this for anyone.
I gave this as a gift for my son who is expecting his first child. Many words of wisdom in this book. Easy to read through and full of thought provoking quotes.
