You can actually get this guide online for free, but I chose to also come here and buy it to show support for this author -- as well as thank the author for creating it. I've been using Scrivener for years now and have barely scratched the surface of what it can do, and this little guide showed me creative ways to use the features that I didn't even know were possible, and which helped me a lot!Even though you can get it for free ... come on, people, chip in the $1.99 and think of it as a tip for job well done. That's less than a glass of soda at a restaurant.
I discovered Scrivener when it was only available on a Mac, and purchased it as soon as it was available for a PC. I have struggled with the tutorials (all text) and felt that I had a rudimentary understanding of Kindle. I have always felt that I wasn't getting the full potential of what Scrivener can do in my work.Your Guide to Scrivener: The Ultimate Tool For Writers, has given me access to many features within Scrivener which I wasn't quite sure how to maximize. Not only do I know they exist, but I now know how to maximize the use of these features in a way that works for my style of writing. My Scrivener skills have improved several times over. If you've purchased Scrivener you've made a commitment, spend a few bucks and save yourself the time of going through the tedious text tutorials that come with the application and buy this book. Your will be glad you did.
Please do not waste your money or your time . This book contains almost no useful information on using Scrivener. Most of it is off topic, and frankly silly, but in a not very funny way if you want to find out how to use any of Scrivener's many functions. I have used Scrivener for a long time, and found this in my Kindle library. I tried to look up a basic function, Compile. The book points at the function and does not help a user at all. Scrivener is a very powerful program with many tool to refine what your doing. It is not for any version of Scrivener. If I could give this book a ZERO, I would.
Scrivener is heaven for writers. It is complex, takes time to learn, but once you are still on your learning curve, you can begin your story. I love it, and the more I use it, the quicker I learn it. I'm even teaching Dragon Naturally Speaking to work within Scrivener. I highly recommend it to all authors who don't write by the seat of their pants...or if they do, there is still a lot here that will be helpful...it sure works for me. This book is a great help. I just wish I had it in a paperback...in Kindle it is a bit more of a chore, as pictures are not so great in Kindle. But the information is valuable. Paperback would get 5 stars.
I have used scrivener for four novels. And still I learned so much from this guide!Thank you for the tips and better techniques. I can't wait to write even more efficiently!
As my title says, this is a good basic introduction to using Scrivener that will get you started. There's not a lot here about various aspects of the program, nor much in the way of explaining exactly how you would use it to handle a large research, and writing project.The title is a little misleading, in that use of the word "ultimate" caused me to believe I was going to get a lot more instruction on using the program than I got.It is, nevertheless, an easy, fast read that will allow you to get to work writing.And that, by itself, makes it worth the time, and money.
I'm not quite a Scrivener beginner, but I am no expert either. I love Scrivener, but the learning curve has been steep. This short book lays out all of the basics a fiction writer will need and then some. I've been studying Scrivener and and have read all the how to and help manuals and I was surprised that this gem of a book showed me even more of the cool functions and tools that I'd yet to discover on my own. The writer has a great voice and sense of humor and I like the author's unique ways of utilizing some of the tools such as key words, labels and status. I especially loved learning how to edit my draft inside the same scrivener file.I strongly recommend this book for the beginner or experiences Scrivener user.
Clear and precise, excelant in displaying copes of screen examples. Humorous, easy to follow, great reference guide. I was looking for an easy read as You work aide. This is it.
